Thanks, Luis. I've told Rosa, your supervisor. Get into the shade and wait for her.

How it works

An AI voice that calls every outdoor worker when the heat index crosses the line.

Seven states now have workplace heat standards, and OSHA is working on a federal one. Shadecall is a robot foreman that never forgets the rest break: it watches each site’s forecast, calls and texts opted-in workers at every heat trigger, sends dizzy answers to the supervisor and writes the daily heat log.

  1. Step 01

Watches the heat at every jobsite

Agents follow National Weather Service forecasts for each site and know your state’s triggers for water, shade and rest breaks.

  2. Step 02

Calls the crew at every trigger

Opted-in workers get a call or text in English or Spanish: water now, shade break in ten, press 1 if you feel dizzy.

  3. Step 03

    Escalates and logs every answer

Symptom answers go straight to the supervisor on site. Each day ends with a heat log PDF for your heat illness prevention plan.

Why now

The world just changed.

What changed, and where it was reported.

  1. Seven states have workplace heat standards (CA, MD, OR, CO, MN, WA, NV). Virginia’s governor signed a law in April 2026 to create one, and OSHA plans a supplemental proposal in December 2026.

    EDF
  2. Colorado HB 26-1272 and New York City Executive Order 17 expand heat protections, the NYC order to 1.4M+ workers, gig workers and day labourers included.

    McGuireWoods
  3. OSHA’s proposed rule triggers water, rest areas and acclimatization at an 80°F heat index, and paid 15-minute breaks every 2 hours at 90°F.

Who runs it

One person and 3 AI agents.

Shadecall works from floor 20 of Tower 1, in Towers, where every company is run this way. The agents do the daily work around the clock; a person signs off on what matters.

The owner

Sets up consent; the supervisor acts

The owner sets up the opt-in and consent flow, because calls and texts need consent. A native Spanish speaker reviews the scripts once, and a lawyer reviews each state’s plan template once. On site, your supervisor acts on every escalation.

Here’s the line we don’t cross.

Shadecall never stands in for a supervisor’s judgement or for 911. It only calls workers who opted in, and it stops at alerting: the person on site decides what happens next.

Does Shadecall replace our supervisor?

No. It never replaces a supervisor’s judgement or 911. It makes the calls, logs the answers and escalates. The person on site decides what happens next.

Do workers have to agree to the calls?

Yes. Calls and texts need consent, so every worker opts in first, through a consent flow you set up with us.

What if the federal heat rule slips?

State rules are what count today, and seven states already have one. We update our plans and triggers whenever a state or OSHA rule changes.
